Ingredients
4 bone in skin on chicken thighs
1 cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt
Black pepper
Instructions
1. Mix BBQ sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
2. Add chicken thighs and coat evenly with marinade.
3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
4. Preheat grill to medium high heat or oven to 425°F.
5. For grilling place chicken skin side down and cook 6 to 8 minutes.
6. Flip chicken, brush with BBQ sauce, and cook another 6 to 8 minutes.
7. For baking place chicken skin side up on a baking sheet.
8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, basting halfway through.
9. Check internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
10. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Marinate longer for deeper flavor.
Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
Do not overcrowd grill or pan.
