Description

Homemade Burger Patties beat frozen patties every single time with superior flavor and texture. Simple seasoning lets quality beef shine through while keeping burgers incredibly juicy.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs ground beef, 80/20 blend

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Combine Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper in small bowl. Mix well and set aside while you prep the beef.

2. Place ground beef in large bowl and pour seasoning mixture over top. Use hands to mix gently until seasonings distribute evenly. Avoid overworking the meat or burgers get tough.

3. Divide mixture into 6-8 equal portions depending on desired burger size. Gently form each portion into a patty slightly larger than your buns.

4. Press your thumb into center of each patty to create a small indentation. This prevents burgers from puffing up into balls during cooking and helps them stay flat.

5. Sprinkle both sides of patties with salt right before cooking. Grill over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. Adjust time based on thickness and preferred doneness.

6. Let burgers rest for 5 minutes after cooking. This allows juices to redistribute throughout the meat for maximum juiciness in every bite.

Notes

Handle meat gently to keep burgers tender.

Make patties slightly bigger than buns.

Don’t press down on burgers while cooking.

Add salt only right before cooking.

Use meat thermometer for perfect doneness.

Make these ahead and freeze between parchment paper sheets.

Try stuffing patties with cheese by placing cheese cube in center and sealing meat around it.

Ground chuck with 80% lean meat and 20% fat makes the juiciest burgers.
