Description

Flaky puff pastry twists stuffed with cream cheese, sharp cheddar, crispy bacon, and spicy jalapeños. These easy appetizers take less than 30 minutes and deliver incredible flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 6 strips bacon, cooked until crispy and chopped
  • 3 jalapeño peppers, thinly sliced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Ranch dressing for serving

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Dust lightly with flour.

2. Add the thawed puff pastry to the prepared sheet pan and gently roll out to ¼-inch thickness.

3. Evenly spread the softened cream cheese over half of the puff pastry sheet.

4. Distribute the chopped jalapeños, half of the grated cheddar, and the chopped bacon bits over the cream cheese. Fold the remaining half of the sheet over and gently press to seal.

5. Using a sharp kitchen knife or pizza cutter, slice into ½-inch thick strips. Twist each strip 3-4 times and place on the baking sheet.

6. Brush with beaten egg, then top with remaining grated cheddar cheese.

7. Bake in the middle rack for 15-20 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through, until deeply golden brown.

8. Let cool at least 5-10 minutes before enjoying warm with ranch dressing.

Notes

You can use one or two sheets of puff pastry depending on how many twists you want.

These are best served fresh but can be reheated in a 350°F oven for 6-10 minutes.

Can be made up to the baking point and refrigerated overnight, then baked when ready to serve.

Jarred jalapeños can be used instead of fresh.

Add garlic powder or hot sauce for extra flavor.
