Description

A vibrant American salad blending sweet peas, tangy dressing, and savory chickpeas for a satisfying dish. Perfect as a side or main course with a fresh, creamy texture and balanced flavors.


Ingredients

ยผ cup mayonnaise
ยผ cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp honey
Salt & black pepper (to taste)
1 lb frozen peas (thawed and dried)
โ…“ cup red onion (diced)
4 oz sharp cheddar cheese (cubed)
2โ€“3 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
1โ„2 cup cooked chickpeas (optional oil for sautรฉing)


Instructions

Prepare dressing by mixing mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper.
Cook chickpeas in a skillet until crispy (optional: add a drizzle of olive oil for extra crunch).
In a large bowl, combine peas, cooked chickpeas, red onion, cheddar cheese, and chopped parsley.
Add dressing and toss to coat evenly. Mix well until ingredients are fully emulsified.

Notes

Replace chickpeas with toasted breadcrumbs for a different texture.
For a vegan version, omit cheese and use vegan mayonnaise/yogurt.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
