Description
Strawberry Shortcake Bites deliver classic strawberry shortcake flavors in bite-sized portions perfect for busy weeknights. Fresh strawberries, fluffy cake, and whipped cream combine in under 30 minutes for a dessert everyone loves.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup sponge cake or pound cake, cut into 1-inch squares
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
1. Wash strawberries thoroughly under cool water. Remove stems and slice into thin pieces.
2. Pour heavy whipping cream into mixing bowl. Beat with electric mixer until soft peaks form (about 3-4 minutes). Add powdered sugar and vanilla if using.
3. Cut cake into 1-inch cubes using sharp knife.
4. Place one cake cube on serving platter. Top with dollop of whipped cream, then add 2-3 strawberry slices.
5. Refrigerate assembled bites for 30 minutes to set cream and meld flavors.
Notes
- Chill mixing bowl and beaters 15 minutes before whipping cream for fluffier texture.
- Fresh strawberries work bestโfrozen berries release too much water.
- Assemble only 30 minutes before serving to prevent soggy cake.
- Store components separately up to 24 hours ahead for easy assembly.
