Description

A nutritious and flavorful Asian-inspired dish that swaps takeout for wholesome, clean ingredients. Featuring tender lean chicken breast, this healthy sesame chicken uses coconut aminos and honey to create a delicious, savory-sweet glaze. It is perfect for busy weeknights, delivering a high-protein meal in under 30 minutes without refined sugars or processed additives.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
0.5 tablespoon avocado oil
0.25 cup coconut aminos
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
0.25 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon lime zest
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

Trim and cut the chicken breasts into uniform cubes.
Heat the avocado oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken cubes to the skillet and sear until golden brown and cooked through.
In a small bowl, whisk together the coconut aminos, honey, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, rice vinegar, black pepper, lime zest, and lime juice.
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the skillet.
Reduce heat to medium and simmer until the sauce thickens slightly to create a glaze.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Use avocado oil for its high smoke point to ensure the chicken sears perfectly without burning. If you prefer extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes during the sauce reduction. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
